Preparation for higher education in France

CAVILAM - Alliance Française’s university studies preparation programme combines general French language courses with targeted methodology workshops to help students prepare for higher education in France. In two weeks (general course) or four weeks (scientific course), students with a minimum B1 French level will learn how to get themselves ready for higher education in France, including understanding the French university system, note taking, essay writing, presentations, specialised vocabulary, marking criteria, and more.

One session per year, in the summer; four weeks for the scientific course and two weeks for all other course

This programme aims to deepen and reinforce the following knowledge areas: oral communication - written communication and grammar - understanding the French higher education system - understanding academic methodology in France - vocabulary (scientific and/or general) - note-taking techniques - oral and written summary and synthesis techniques - public speaking - essay writing

19.5 hours of French class time from Monday to Friday mornings, themed workshops in the afternoon
